گزارش صبحگاهی (morning report) از سنتهای قدیمی در آموزش پزشکی بوده و در طی آن، اطلاعات یک بیمار که اخیراً در بیمارستان بستری شده، توسط فراگیران به اعضای هیئت علمی و دیگر فراگیران ارائه شده و راجع به آن بیمار بحث میشود.

ما در این مجموعه، اطلاعات اصلی بیمار را ترجمه نمیکنیم که تمرینی هم باشد برای خواندن به زبان انگلیسی. البته اگر کلمهٔ دشواری در اطلاعات بیمار داشته باشد، توضیحش خواهیم داد.
Reason for presentation: rash and hearing loss
Part 1: The Patient’s Story
A 59-year-old man presented to the primary care clinic for evaluation of joint pain, rash, and hearing loss. Four weeks prior, he noticed a rash on his chest, back, and arms. At that time, he also had a sore throat and intermittent chills.
He did not have a cough, shortness of breath, or a runny nose. He had not received treatment with any new medications prior to the onset of his symptoms. He underwent an evaluation that included rapid streptococcal-antigen testing, the results of which were negative.
The symptoms were thought to be sequelae of a viral infection; supportive care with antipyretics and hydration was recommended.
Two weeks later, the sore throat and chills had improved. However, he started having pain in the hands, wrists, ankles, and left knee. A few days later, there was a sensation of ringing in his ears, and he had difficulty hearing other people when they spoke to him.
